Sixth Form

Welcome from Head of Sixth Form

Choosing the most suitable sixth form can be a daunting experience but at Hammersmith Academy we aim to make that choice much simpler. We are committed to providing an environment where you can achieve great success, ensuring you are taught by outstanding teachers, have access to fantastic resources and are supported on an individual basis by a caring and dedicated pastoral team.

At Hammersmith, we have worked hard to ensure your experience in Sixth Form is varied – longer learning sessions are central to deeper understanding of your chosen subjects and are complemented by a wide range of enrichment activities including sports, study support, volunteering to assist with the learning of younger students and external visits to support your learning.

I look forward to welcoming you in sharing in the experience of Hammersmith Academy Sixth Form.

Every Sixth Form student plays a key role in the Academy’s peer coaching programme. This is an opportunity to develop leadership skills and mentor others to become confident learners. Sixth Formers are expected to take a mature approach to their work and adopt a professional standard of dress, reflecting the ethos and ambitions of the Academy and all its members.

All our Sixth Form students have a house tutor at the Academy who acts as a personal advisor. They monitor individual progress and provide support to ensure potential is reached. Additionally, students receive expert careers and university guidance and financial literacy education. Financial assistance may be available through bursaries.

When students leave Hammersmith Academy, they not only have impressive qualifications but are also confident, articulate, courteous and successful.
