About

Welcome to Hammersmith Academy — a school built on aspiration, opportunity, and a clear purpose: to prepare every young person for success in the real world, no matter their starting point or the challenge of the destination.

Our Vision

Our vision was founded by Tom Ilube CBE – entrepreneur, philanthropist, and one of the UK’s most influential educational figures and Chair of the King’s Trust Council – who set out to create a school where ambition is nurtured, and success is defined not only by academic results, but by the character, confidence and skills our students carry into life beyond the classroom.

Our Ethos

At the heart of our ethos is the belief that education must be transformational. We don’t simply want our students to pass exams – we want them to lead successful and enriched lives, make meaningful contributions to society, and thrive in a globally connected, ever-changing world. That’s why everything we do at Hammersmith Academy is shaped by our core values:
Responsibility, Resilience, Resourcefulness, and Respect.

A Rigorous Curriculum Taught by Experts

Since opening our doors in 2011, Hammersmith Academy has grown into a vibrant, high-achieving school community with an unparalleled record for long-term student success.

We offer a rigorous, knowledge-rich curriculum taught by passionate subject specialists. But what truly sets us apart is the wealth of real-world opportunities available to our students. From industry-led workshops and national competitions to leadership roles, university visits, and professional mentoring, our students experience education that goes far beyond the traditional.

Partnerships that Broaden Horizons

Our private school partnersSt Paul’s School and St Paul’s Girls’ School, through our shared sponsor The Mercers’ Company – provide our students with access to additional academic and cultural enrichment. These experiences open minds, raise aspirations, and reflect our commitment to educational excellence. Our second sponsor, The Worshipful Company of Information Technologists, helps ensure our curriculum and leadership remain bold, future-focused, and innovative.

Outstanding Outcomes and Real-World Pathways

The results speak for themselves: our students progress to top universities, including Oxbridge and Russell Group institutions, or secure places on some of the UK’s most competitive degree apprenticeships. Our alumni go on to excel in industries ranging from medicine and law to the creative arts, finance, and technology – becoming not just successful professionals, but positive role models and active citizens.

We are proud of our school where aspiration is matched by opportunity, where students of all backgrounds are supported to achieve their full potential, and where we believe that real world success belongs to every young person.
