Guidance on applications, Fair Banding, deadlines, and admissions support

Admissions for Year 7–11

Choosing the right secondary school is one of the most important decisions a family will make. At Hammersmith Academy, we are delighted that you are considering joining our community – a school built on academic ambition, outstanding support, and real world success. Whether you are applying for a Year 7 place or looking for an in-year admission (Years 7–11), this section will guide you through every step of the process.

Year 7 Entry

Each year we welcome 140 new Year 7 students who join us at the start of their secondary school journey. Families applying for Year 7 will find full details on:

  • Key dates, deadlines, and what to expect on National Offer Day
  • How to apply through your local authority (eAdmissions)
  • Our Year 7 Admissions Criteria
  • Fair Banding and how the test works
  • Transition support, including Summer School
In-Year Admissions (Years 7–11)

We also welcome applications from students wishing to join the Academy during the school year, when places become available.

If your child is already in Years 7–11 and you would like them to transfer to Hammersmith Academy, you can:

  • Submit an In-Year Admissions enquiry
  • Join our waiting list if the year group is full
  • Speak with our Admissions Team for personalised guidance
