Keeping parents informed and students accountable for success

Satchel One

At Hammersmith Academy, we use Satchel One – the UK’s leading homework and behaviour management platform – to help every student stay organised, supported, and accountable. The system allows students and teachers to track homework, deadlines, and progress in real time, ensuring clear communication and consistency across school and home life.

Students can stay on top of their homework management by accessing Satchel One at home or on a school computer during the school day. In line with our mobile phone-free policy, mobile devices are not used in school and remain securely stored in Yondr pouches, ensuring students stay focused on learning.

How Satchel One Works for Students

  • Students can view all homework, coursework, and class tasks in one easy-to-use To-Do List, with clear due dates and submission statuses.
  • Work can be submitted online from any device, allowing teachers to give feedback quickly and effectively.
  • Students can check their timetable, receive notices, and keep track of upcoming assessments – helping them to take ownership of their learning.

How Satchel One Works for Parents

  • Parents and carers have full visibility of their child’s homework, deadlines, and completed tasks through their own Satchel One login.
  • The app notifies parents when homework is set, due, or submitted, making it easier to stay informed and offer support when it’s needed.
  • Reflections and Detentions: Parents are automatically informed via the Satchel One app if their child has been set a reflection (detention). This open communication ensures that behaviour expectations are clear and that students have the opportunity to learn from and respond to feedback constructively.

How Satchel One Supports Teachers

  • Teachers can efficiently set, track, and mark homework while monitoring engagement and understanding.
  • The platform also enables staff to log Reflections (detentions) quickly and securely, ensuring parents are notified in real time and that all behaviour communications remain transparent.
  • This joined-up approach supports consistency, accountability, and a positive learning culture across the Academy.
