How to Apply for a Sixth Form Place

Joining Hammersmith Academy Sixth Form means choosing a pathway defined by ambition, opportunity, and real world success. Applying is simple — step by step guide

1. Check the Entry Requirements

We welcome applications from both internal and external students.

Students must meet:

  • General entry requirements for Sixth Form
  • Subject-specific entry requirements for their chosen courses

2. Submit Your Online Application

Applications are made through our online application form.

Start your application here

You will need to:

  • Register an account
  • Complete all sections of the application
  • List your subject choices (plus a reserve)

Key Deadlines:

  • Internal Application Deadline: Friday 31st October 2025
  • External Application Deadline: Saturday 31st January 2026

External Applicants Must Also Upload:

  • GCSE certificates/results slip (once available)
  • Identification (passport or birth certificate)
  • UPN, ULN, UCI (if available)

The system will automatically request a reference from your referee when you submit your application.

(Internal students do not require a reference.).

3. Attend an Interview (External Applicants Only)

All external applicants who meet the entry requirements will be invited to an admissions interview.

Interview Dates

  • Friday 27th February 2026
  • Thursday 19th March 2026

The interview is an opportunity for us to learn more about your interests, ambitions, and subject choices — and for you to ask questions about life at HA Sixth Form.

4. Conditional Offers Issued

Once applications and interviews have been reviewed, conditional offers will be sent out.

Offer Dates:

  • Internal Applicants: Thursday 30th April 2026
  • External Applicants: Tuesday 31st March 2026

These offers will outline:

  • Your approved subject choices
  • The grades required to enrol
  • Any guidance for next steps

Offer Acceptance Deadline:

All applicants must accept their place by: Friday 8th May 2026

5. Final Enrolment on GCSE Results Day

Your Sixth Form place is confirmed on Enrolment Day, once GCSE grades are released.

Enrolment Day – Thursday 20th August 2026

If You Hold a Conditional Offer

You must:

  1. Upload your GCSE results to the portal
  2. Call the Sixth Form Enrolment Team between 9:00am – 1:00pm
    to finalise your subjects and complete enrolment

Our team will check your grades carefully and guide you through the process.

6. Clearing (For New Applicants On Results Day)

If you did not apply previously, or achieved stronger results than expected, you may still be eligible for a place.

Clearing Slots

Call between 2:00pm – 4:00pm on Enrolment Day

You must:

  • Complete an online application
  • Upload your GCSE results
  • Provide identification and relevant documents

Places are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

7. What Happens Next

Once enrolled, you will receive:

  • A full Sixth Form induction schedule
  • Details of form groups and subject teachers
  • Information on the Mercers’ Talent Award and bursary support
  • Start-of-term arrangements and expectations
