Over the next two years, you’ll be challenged academically, supported personally and inspired to achieve your ambitions. Whether your goal is university, a degree apprenticeship or another exciting pathway, you’ll benefit from outstanding teaching, expert careers guidance and exceptional opportunities that will prepare you for real world success.
Before joining us in September, there are a few important steps to help you make a successful transition into Sixth Form.
Summer Transition Tasks
To help you make the best possible start to your A Levels, BTEC or AAQ courses, each subject has prepared a summer transition task.
These activities are designed to:
- Refresh and build on your existing knowledge
- Introduce key concepts you’ll study in Year 12
- Develop the independent learning skills expected in Sixth Form
- Ensure you’re ready to begin your chosen courses with confidence
Please complete the transition tasks for each of your chosen subjects before your first lessons in September.

Transition Day
Our Sixth Form Transition Day is your opportunity to experience life as a Hammersmith Academy Sixth Former before the new academic year fully begins.
You’ll have the chance to:
- Meet your teachers and fellow students
- Team building workshops
- Learn more about Sixth Form expectations
- Meet key members of the Sixth Form team
- Ask any questions before starting in September
The Transition Day takes place on Thursday 3rd September 2026, 12:30pm-3:30pm .
