I started my career at Hammersmith Academy in a non-teaching role as a Student Achievement Manager, supporting a year group and guiding students through their academic and personal development.
As my experience grew, I became Lead Student Achievement Manager and later Rewards Manager, where I developed and implemented the Academy’s whole-school rewards system.
Seeing my cohort progress into Sixth Form was a turning point and inspired me to move into teaching. Before making that decision, I was given the opportunity to teach lessons alongside an experienced teacher, allowing me to build confidence and gain first-hand experience of the classroom.
With that support, I went on to complete my teacher training and became a Maths teacher, later progressing into curriculum and departmental leadership.
Alongside this, I continued to develop my pastoral leadership, becoming Head of Upper School before moving into Sixth Form.
Today, I am proud to be part of the Senior Leadership Team and Head of Sixth Form — a journey that reflects the opportunity to grow, take on new challenges and build a long-term career at Hammersmith Academy.

What is the sense of community like among staff?
There is a strong sense of team across the Academy. Staff support each other, share ideas and work closely together.

What does your role as Head of Sixth Form mean to you?
It’s incredibly rewarding. You see students grow into confident, independent young people ready for university, apprenticeships or careers.
Leading the Sixth Form allows me to combine academic ambition with strong pastoral support, helping students take their next steps with confidence.
