Year 7 – 9

Geography

Key Stage: KS3

Our Key Stage 3 Geography vision is to inspire curiosity and fascination about the world and helping students understand diverse places, people, resources, and environments. We aim to equip students with geographical knowledge and skills that enable them to become informed, responsible global citizens.

Our Geography curriculum provides a rich, engaging journey through the world’s physical and human processes. Students are encouraged to question, think critically, and make connections between local, national, and global issues.

Through a broad and balanced range of topics, they build geographical knowledge and develop essential skills in map reading, data interpretation, and fieldwork, while gaining a strong sense of place, environmental responsibility, and cultural awareness.

The Key Stage 3 curriculum ensures students understand the interconnectedness of our world. They study both physical and human geography, from natural hazards and climate change to urbanisation and global development, learning how local actions influence global outcomes.

Lessons prioritise enquiry-based learning to spark curiosity and develop independent, critical thinkers. Real-world data and fieldwork experiences help students apply classroom knowledge practically, reinforcing the relevance of geography in everyday life.
